Professional Fracture Care in Miranda NSW
Splinting and Casting
All our Physiotherapists are trained in managing fractures, sprains and pre-post-operative rehabilitation.
Fibreglass casting is the most effective method in the management of fractures. Fibreglass is lighter than plaster and water-resistant. The cast is applied on-site and moulded in the required position for effective fracture healing. Our physiotherapists can also refer for further scans if applicable and advise when to remove the cast in conjunction with Specialists and Doctors.

Thermoplastic Splinting
Thermoplastic splinting is also used for specific fractures, sprains and return-to-sport protocols. The thermoplastic splint is designed to be heated and moulded into any desired shape. It is commonly used in the treatment of sprains, fractures and contusions. The versatility of thermoplastic splinting means it can be used to decrease pain, immobilise smaller joints, improve joint alignment, increase confidence and reduce or eliminate the need for surgical procedures. It is also commonly used as part of the normal post-surgical rehabilitation protocol as advised by the specialist/doctor.
